Thanks to the internet, consumers are now inundated with choice when it comes to purchasing anything, from a CD, to a car, to a service. Most people do their shopping, or at least their pre-buy research, online now which has opened up a unique market for many businesses. Some no longer even have a central business location – there is no need for a premise when they can take care of everything online. Although the great amount of choice is largely good for the public, there leaves a slight problem when it comes to sifting through all your choices. With this problem came an opportunity for a whole new business model online, now that there are so many choices there are even websites cropping up to help you make your decisions, these sites are called price comparison websites and work quite simply, they compare the prices of every other site they can to give you a centralized list of prices and comparisons for different manufacturers. Along with the prices you will also often have access to different reviews and information on delivery costs or customer service reviews for each option. The trick with finding the things you need is to check a few price comparison websites as not all websites have reviews and prices for all products.

Some are better than others and some require a little bit more research than is necessary due to advertising and poor layout. Beware of websites that offer misleading information. Some websites claim to be strictly price comparison website but in reality they are merely advertising websites that only compare prices from a handful of large companies. The internet is a great place to sell any number of things, however there are some products that benefit from it more than others. One of these products are electronics, electronic products have really found a great sales medium through the internet, this is because of several reasons, one reason being sites that only operate online do not have to pay for shops, meaning lower overheads and savings that can be passed on to the consumer, allowing for lower prices and better deals. Another reason electronics are so popular to buy online is the fact that most people will not purchase an electronic product without reading reviews and other consumer feedback, something that most shops online offer. If you do like to make sure you are getting the most out of your money, and you enjoy purchasing items through internet shopping, then be sure to check out some price comparison websites before you commit to buy as it could save you a considerable amount of money.

Price Comparison and Online Money

John Osborne R. asked:

Price comparison websites perform an excellent service for consumers. Given the wide variety of provision the internet they help to secure the relevant information for the consumers so that when they come to purchase the product they are concentrating on the work that has been done and the actual structures instead of doing a new search altogether. Imagine getting all your products in one place and being able to look at the different pricing structures that have been applied. That is the value of price comparison websites and you can be part of the action if you want to make money online.

First of all you will need a search engine that pools all the data from different websites. It works like a search engine by gathering product details and their prices. These are then placed on a platform where the public can access them. In order to transform this useful service into money making scheme you need to make arrangements for the product to be reviewed with the consent of the manufacturer. You can then make a request that they give you commission any time that you refer traffic to them. In most cases they will be happy to oblige if the product is sold extensively.

If you are going to use the price comparison website in this way it is imperative that you keep an eye on the tracking code. This is the system that will show that you have sent a referral for the product. If the tracking is not right then you will not get the results that you need to finish off this project. You also need to review the processes so that the commission reflects the work that you have to do in order to attract traffic. Most manufacturers are flexible on this issue if you can make a credible business case.

There is a need for fresh content on the price comparison website. That content can be secured through the use of personal reviews by customers that have used the product. You can work with the manufactures to create an incentive scheme. For example if someone reviews the product then they might get a discount on the product or they might even enter the draw for a prize. That way your content will be updated on a fairly regular basis without too many commitments. There is no need to do individual tasks in this front.

Budget Tips – Understanding Comparison Shopping

Mike Harty asked:

The internet is awash with e-commerce websites, meaning that when it comes to shopping online, you are not short of choice. However, we are all working to a budget, in one sense or another and we all like to think that we are getting the best deal possible. Many of us therefore use price comparison services in order to find the best price, but this prudent logic typically goes out of the window when it comes to businesses shopping online.

In this article I am therefore going to investigate the role that high quality price comparison websites can have when it comes to saving businesses money. In this new age of austerity and cuts, every penny counts. Here is how you can make your businesses money go a little bit further.

When your business is looking to buy anything, from paperclips to printers, you could find yourself thinking “any price will do”. This way of thinking costs businesses £7 billion per year in the UK alone, according to The Guardian for Business. This is likely to be a prudent calculation – the reality is that businesses all around the world are overspending when cheaper prices are available. It’s unlikely that you have a supplier for everything your business needs, all the small and irregular purchases, such as pens, paper, calculators, coasters for the meeting room. These small purchases add up over the years, and with careful planning, and intelligent shopping, you WILL save a fortune.

The first step is to shop online, if you don’t need it immediately, don’t pay the premium. By shopping online you cut out the immediacy premium and your donation to shop floor staff, heating and a fancy high-street location. Both parties are happier, the online retailer can monitor stock far more easily, and you save money.

The next problem you face is finding the shop which can give you the best price. We all know that Google doesn’t show you results in price order. Google is driven by complex algorithms, relating to the number of inlinks your website has and the volume of substantive unique content. For online shops both of these ranking factors are hard to come by – e-commerce sites aren’t inherently structured to offer link bait for gaining easy links and they don’t typically have vast amounts of unique content. The result is that many online shops get lost in the Google maze, the result being that high PR sites like Wikipedia, social networks and popular content sites appear above shops. This makes online shopping frustrating and leads many people straight in to the arms of Amazon. Staff often make the mistake of hitting the first shop they see on Google and buying. They think they are saving time. In fact, they often miss out on the cheapest price, and also the opportunity to get the purchase just as quickly.

It is imperative that you start using a comprehensive shopping search engine. They exist to save you money, and that principal aim works the same for your business.

These websites let you fulfil the three rules for business efficiency:
Shop online Shop quickly Never miss the best deal

Isn’t it time your company shopped smarter online?

Stay tuned for more tips for smart shopping.

Sarah mommy 2 a princess asked:

do you look at price comparison websites first, or just shop as normal at your normal store?
I was looking at the pampers baby dry and prices are different everywhere, just wish I’d have thought about starting to check months ago instead of just now!
Not that much difference but when you think of how many months you use something, the difference does add up.
I’ve found buying in bulk from C & C works out cheaper but it was pointless with the size 1, 2 and maybe 3,s because babies grow out of those sizes before we have used them all.

Amanda – lol you must get through a lot of newspaper
