My dell XPS isn’t low quality, it has been running 3 years fine no problems. Way cheaper than your silly all in one machine (including the monitor). What’s the point in making it all in one, that just make it more expensive.

It’s not likely at all to happen, but, it would still be nice.

I don’t think Apple will ever make a mid tower simply because it would put them in direct competition with companies like Dell who can turn out a quad core mid tower for $50 or less and mark up to $399.

I’ll agree that the iMacs are one of Apple’s products that is actually somewhat fairly priced. I don’t like the idea of All-In-Ones, nor are they practical over small desktops or even a laptop, but the iMacs are priced comparably to other All-in-Ones.

IMO, Apple should make an affordable mid-tower for enthusiasts who like to get into their computers and upgrade with aftermarket parts. Of course, that means less Mac sales, so it’s unlikely to happen. It would be nice though.

ya but its like putting a BMW(mac) versus an escort (DELL), there are Ferraris out there too. lol, Either way im too cheap for an AIO, and you would have to agree that most people that know computers would rather build their own. Either way still not a fan of DELL, but then again most people buy them for the price and its funny that their not the cheapest in ur example, well played sir.

Not everyone wants to build their own computer. What you call “goofy looking” some would call simple and elegant.

Its not a cheap shot to put the Mac against Gateway or Dell, they are all OEMs. Its not apples fault the competition is crap Phil.

i have just never thought bout throwing that kind of money into a computer that cant be upgraded very well. Some people would rather buy a computer piece by piece opposed to a goofy looking AIO. PC, whitebox, thats the way its done. agreed that AIO arent the same as towers, but from the tower side of the fence… well I find it to be pretty nice over here. good luck with defending the mac, but putting it against DELL and Gateway.. cheap shot, they are simply terrible. but im sure u kno that Jack

I’m comparing AIO systems because a lot of fanboys try to compare the iMac to a regular tower PC and thats not right.

When you compare an AIO to another AIO the prices are real close and the Mac is cheaper than some.

Why the name calling? No debating skills? Too young? Too uneducated?

man, not sure why u are comparing all in one computers, thats kinda retarded. I met a guy that bought an all-in-one once, he also bought a helmet the same day… cuz he is retarded, u look alot like em

I also own both kinds of computers. I have 3 PCs and one Mac. I’m running OS X, Ubuntu , and XP Pro SP3 on my Mac.

I enjoy them all as well. But, I know the strengths and weaknesses of each.

I also know that people like to spread lies about Macs. I’m just trying to set the record straight.

If I have to explain the differences between an AIO and a tower PC you will never understand.

ok never mind. if i have to explain the uses of a truck and a corvet then you will never understand

Not so. You have the space issue. If someone has a very small space the iMac is a space saver.

“he corvet and truck have 2 totally different functions”

No they don’t, they both get you there and back and both have 4 wheels.

My point is valid. I’m comparing the same types of products. You cannot compare a tower PC to and AIO because the AIO is more expensive to make. When you compare the Mac AIO to other OEMs the do very well.

a truck and corvet or whatever is a horrible simile to the all in one mac and a tower. while a tower and all in one have the same function, the corvet and truck have 2 totally different functions. your all in one mac and tower PC have only aesthetic differences.

your point is moot. you can buy a tower and monitor at those specs for less than your all in one mac BS. not to mention many more places offer “PC” so you can shop around for better prices. you cant get a mac from to many places so your going to pay that premium most of the time

don’t forget the gaymerz that would still swear by windows even if bill gates himself would come out on tv and say windows sucks

..even though mac os x can NATIVITY run thousands of games there head is too far up there *** to realize this, and that the reason the mac doesn’t have as much games is because they won’t get a mac

Rogue is right. AIO, or not, it is a desktop PC. It’s price and function place it in the same market as most tower machines.
Having a smaller form-factor doesn’t make it so different that you would never buy it for the same purposes as a tower unit.
